District 15 Commander - Army - Post 7946
Joined the NCARNG in February 1979 the unit he joined was 4 years old it was started in 1975 as the 1453rd Trans Company In Jefferson. The Guard rented the VFW Post for their armory until the new armory was built near by. He retired from the guard October 31st 2000 with just under 22 years service, almost 20 years with the 1450th trans company and the last 2 years with the 1454 trans company In Concord where he took the job of Platoon Sgt. So he could retire as a E7. He served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm was deployed for 7 months.
He joined the VFW, DAV and the American Legion. He give all his spare time to the VFW , he first served as the Quartermaster of our Post did that job for 2 years and was voted in as Post Commander served in that roll for 15 years and in 2014 was elected to District Commander and served 2014 to 2016.
He was voted back in as post commander in 2016 until 2020 and was voted back in as District Commander for 2 years and then he was voted in as the Post Sr. Vice Commander and still serve his post in that roll along with being voted back in as District Commander again in 2025. He also have served in the District as Jr. Vice and Sr. Vice at different times.
