Jeff Goldberg

Chaplain - Army/Navy - Post 9337

Proud Army and Navy veteran with a distinguished record of military service and continued dedication to fellow veterans through the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Jeff began his military career in the Army National Guard before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. After completing training in Orlando, Florida, and Lakehurst, New Jersey, he was, assigned to the USS Midway (CV-41), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. During his time aboard the Midway, he deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Following the Gulf War, he returned to Japan, joined VFW Post 1054, and later participated in humanitarian evacuation operations at Clark Air Base and Subic Bay in the Philippines.

Jeff's next assignment was aboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73), where he met his wife, Melissa. They have been happily married for 34 years. He later transitioned to the U.S. Army, serving at Fort Benning, Georgia before deploying once again to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Fiery Vigil.

Following his military service, Jeff remained committed to serving veterans through the VFW. He has held several leadership positions, including Post Trustee, Post Judge Advocate (JAG), and currently serves as Commander of VFW Post 9337, a position he has held since 2024. He also serves as Senior Vice Commander for VFW District 13 and is the Sky Pilot for Pup Tent 89, continuing his commitment to supporting veterans and their families through leadership, mentorship, and service.
